Description
CAMEO Art House Theatre is a contributing building on the National Register in Fayetteville's Downtown Historic District. The original structure, built in 1914, is known by historians as The Dixie Theater Building. It housed one of the area's first movie theaters and for a time, included the Rose Theater on the second floor.
Being the last remaining theater downtown, the CAMEO was meticulously restored in 2000. Expansion in 2002 converted a portion of the upper level into a second theater, allowing for even more film offerings. In addition to film exhibition, the theater strives to be a community cultural resource and brings a wide array of nightlife to the downtown by also offering: live performances, comedy shows, concerts, film festivals and the ability to host private special events. Fayetteville, North Carolina USA.
